1. A method of measuring thyroid analytes comprising:
- a. obtaining a patient sample from a canine species;
b. incubating the sample with a label detectant;
c. measuring Free T4 in the sample of the canine species using the label as the detectant, andd. measuring T4 in the sample; and
e. applying a r-squared value of the ratio of T4 relative to Free T4 between about 0.75 and about 0.99 as a correlation to establish a diagnostic specificity for canine thyroid disease.

14. A method of diagnosing thyroid disease in a canine wherein the method includes a method of measuring thyroid analytes comprising:
-
a) obtaining a patient sample from a canine species; b) incubating the sample with a label detectant; c) measuring Free T4 in the sample of the canine species using the label as the detectant; d) measuring T4 in the sample; and e) applying a r-squared value of the ratio of T4 relative to Free T4 between about 0.75 and about 0.99, as a correlation to establish a diagnostic specificity for canine thyroid disease such that thyroid disease can be diagnosed. - View Dependent Claims (15, 16, 17, 18, 22)
