1. A method of retrieving information associated to a point-of-interest, comprising:
- receiving real-time location information associated with a mobile device;
receiving a search request requesting point-of-interest information;
in response to said search request, performing a search for said point-of-interest information using a plurality of search methods, at least one of said search methods being based on a distance of a point-of-interest from a real-time location of said mobile device, and each of said plurality of search methods providing at least one unique search result;
combining said at least one unique search result to generate at least one recommended point-of-interest information; and
communicating said at least one recommended point-of-interest information with said mobile device.

Abstract
Searching and retrieving location information associated with one or more points of interests (POI). Search criteria can be dependent upon preferences or search restrictions selected by the user device, e.g., rating information about the POI, as well as location of a POI with respect to the real-time position of the user device. Upon selecting a POI from the search result, the user device is then given further information regarding the selected POI, e.g., directions for traveling to the POI. The user device provides a proximity notification once the user device is within a certain distance from the POI. While at a POI, the user device can provide to the system information regarding the POI, such as a rating of the establishment, without having to specifically identify the POI as the system can self-identify the POI by using the position information of the user device.

1. A method of retrieving information associated to a point-of-interest, comprising:

10. A method for collecting rating information for a point-of-interest using a mobile device, comprising:

receiving real-time location information associated with a mobile device; determining whether a real-time location of said mobile device is within a predetermined distance from a point-of-interest; upon determining said mobile device is within said predetermined distance from said point-of-interest, displaying on said mobile device information associated with said point-of-interest; and receiving, from said mobile device, rating information associated with said point-of-interest. - View Dependent Claims (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17)

18. A method for displaying location-triggered information, said comprising:

receiving real-time location information associated with said mobile device; determining whether a real-time location of said mobile device is within a predetermined distance from a point-of-interest; determining whether said point-of-interest is on a current route of travel of said mobile device; and if it is determined that said real-time location of said mobile device is within a predetermined distance from said point-of-interest and that said point-of-interest is on said current route, automatically displaying information associated with said point-of-interest. - View Dependent Claims (19, 20, 21, 22, 23)
