1. A computer implemented method for real-time acquisition, classification, and presentation of Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) data originating from a plurality of field meters or devices in an oil or gas field, comprising:

  • receiving oil or gas data from a plurality of heterogeneous SCADA servers, wherein the oil or gas data originate from the plurality of field meters or devices in the oil or gas field, and wherein the heterogeneous SCADA servers are configured to obtain the oil or gas data from the plurality of field meters or devices via at least one of a wireless communication network, frame relay data lines and a single or plurality of modems;

    normalizing the data comprising standardizing the incoming data according to a set of data types and corresponding data values such that a consistent set of data types and values enables creating a context for gathered incoming data and allows for at least one of aggregations, comparisons and analyses to be performed on incoming data;

    storing the normalized data into a database for subsequent processing; and

    presenting the normalized data to a user using a visual interface;

    thereby allowing the user to obtain a unified, device or meter agnostic visual presentation of data obtained from a plurality of heterogeneous SCADA servers and originating from a plurality of field meters or devices in the oil or gas field.
