1. A method for externally simulating a retinal stimulation system implanted on a subject based on visual information signals, the method comprising:
- providing a video processor adapted to receive, process, and transform the visual information signals;
providing a transceiver unit adapted to receive the visual information signals from the video processor and adapted to wirelessly transmit the visual information signals to the retinal stimulation system, wherein the transceiver unit is external to an eye of the subject;
providing a receiver unit adapted to wirelessly receive the visual information signals intended for the retinal stimulation system from the transceiver unit and simulate electrical functionalities of the retinal stimulation system, wherein the receiver unit is external to the eye of the subject; and
providing a display unit for visually monitoring the visual information signals processed through the receiver unit, thus simulating a visual effect on the subject of the visual information signals.
