1. A system for ultrasound medical imaging, the system comprising:

  • a first ultrasound information processing device configured to packetize ultrasound image data into a stream of data frames and to convey said stream of data frames and control parameters via a serial communication channel, wherein each of multiple data frames conveyed over a duration of said stream of data frames includes an indication of an ultrasound imaging mode and includes ultrasound-imaging-mode-specific imaging parameters within each of multiple data frames that are descriptive of structure of a data frame, wherein the structure of each data frame comprises a header and a body, the image data and control parameters arranged to remain in sync during scan mode changes, the image data stored in the body, the control parameter stored in the header; and

a second ultrasound information processing device configured to receive said stream of data frames and control parameters via said serial communication channel, and to recognize the ultrasound imaging mode of received image data from the indication.
