- a wireless-enabled smart card reader configured to be coupled to a smart card, the wireless-enabled smart card reader having a wireless communication interface; and
a mobile device configured to establish a direct wireless connection with the wireless-enabled smart card reader via the wireless communication interface in order for the mobile device to access the smart card,wherein the mobile device is further configured, while the direct wireless connection exists, to control establishment of direct, contemporaneous connections of the wireless-enabled smart card reader to one or more other devices attempting to access the smart card.
