An access node for use in a wireless network including a relay node, a first user equipment, and a second user equipment, wherein the access node and the relay node are configured to establish a relay link, wherein the relay node and the first user equipment are configured to establish an access link, wherein the access node and the second user equipment are configured to establish a direct link, and wherein the relay link and the direct link share the same physical downlink control channel, the access node comprising:
- a processor configured such that the access node services the relay node,wherein the processor is further configured to allocate a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) resource to the relay node for use by the relay node to schedule the first user equipment so as to overcome signaling interference between the access link and the direct link.
