Dental implant with interlocking and centering threads

1. A dental implantable device for insertion into bone for use with a prosthetic tooth, wherein the dental implantable device comprises:
- an abutment with a plurality of male keys disposed symmetrically about the distal end of the abutment, the prosthetic tooth configured to be coupled to the abutment;
an implantable anchor with a proximal and distal end and having a plurality of female keyways disposed symmetrically about the proximate end of the implantable anchor capable of coupling to the male keys of the abutment and an interlocking thread helically defined around a longitudinal axis, the thread being adapted to thread into a bore in the bone and comprising;
a first superior contact surface having a first angle relative to the longitudinal axis greater than 90 degrees;
a second superior contact surface extending radially outward from the first contact surface and having a second acute angle relative to the longitudinal axis;
an inferior flank surface having a third angle relative to the longitudinal axis, wherein the first angle is larger than the second angle such that the first contact surface and the second contact surface form an approximate longitudinally cross-sectional V-shape; and
an inferior relief surface having a fourth angle relative to the longitudinal axis, wherein all of the angles relative to the longitudinal axis are unequal to each other and are arranged such that each thread continuously narrows in size as it becomes more radially distant from the longitudinal axis;
wherein the dental implantable device further comprises means for coupling the abutment to the implantable anchor; and
a self-tapping repository bore defined in a distal portion of the implantable anchor.

A dental implant device for insertion into a bore defined in bone for use with a prosthetic tooth or dental appliance includes an abutment with a plurality of male keys disposed about the distal end of the abutment capable of being affixed to the prosthetic tooth or dental appliance, an implantable anchor having a proximal and distal end, a plurality of female keyways defined into the proximal end of the anchor, the keyways capable of coupling to the male keys of the abutment and thereby preventing relative rotation of the abutment and anchor; an interlocking thread helically defined around a longitudinal axis of the anchor, the thread being adapted to couple to the bore defined in the bone and elements for coupling the abutment to the implant anchor.

6. An anchor screw for embedment into bone, comprising:

a screw body comprising a distal end for leading into the bone and a stem end opposite said distal end; a thread helically circumscribing said screw body between said stem end and said distal end spaced from a central longitudinal axis of said screw body; said thread having a chevron shape when viewed in section along a plane passing vertically through said longitudinal axis; said chevron shape having a first side defining first and second contact surfaces and, a second side defining first and second inferior surfaces; and both said contact surfaces and said inferior surfaces defining said chevron shape;
wherein said first contact surface and said first inferior surface slope away from each other as said surfaces extend towards said longitudinal axis wherein said second contact surface and said second inferior surface slope away from each other as said surfaces extend towards said longitudinal axis, wherein said first and second contact surfaces are straight and meet at an angle when viewed in said section and wherein said first and second inferior surfaces are straight and meet at an angle when viewed in said section. - View Dependent Claims (7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17)
