1. A prosthetic valve for implantation in a body vessel, said prosthetic valve having a lengthwise axis and comprising:

  • at least one flexible member movable between a first position that permits fluid flow in a first direction and a second position that substantially prevents fluid flow in a second direction, the at least one flexible member formed of a woven structure having a surface and an outer edge, the woven structure comprising a continuous weave of first and second materials forming the surface;

    the first material including multiple fibers interwoven with the second material, wherein the multiple fibers extend from the continuous weave along the outer edge of the flexible member to form a structure perimeter formed only of the first material and defining the perimeter of the woven structure; and

    a plurality of extensions formed of the first material, each extension of the plurality of extensions extending outward from the structure perimeter relative to said lengthwise axis of said prosthetic valve and adapted for engaging said body vessel;

    wherein said prosthetic valve has a first, unexpanded configuration and a second, expanded configuration.
