1. A device comprising:
- a microfluidic interconnected region of a first channel comprising an upstream portion defined by walls, a downstream portion defined by walls, the interconnected region having a dimensional restriction formed by an extension of a wall at the intersection of the upstream and downstream portions and at least one microfluidic channel inserted concentrically within the upstream portion of the first channel, wherein the extension is in a direction transverse to the flow of fluid in the interconnected region.
