1. A system for recalling data storage media components to a media library based on changes made to data in a file system, comprising:
- a processor;
a data change component coupled to the processor, wherein the data change component provides information related to changes made to an original copy of a data set stored by a local file system,wherein the local file system is associated with a data storage system that comprises a media library, andwherein a physical media component that is located outside of the media library contains a second copy of the data set;
a data identification component that is configured to identify the physical media component that contains the second copy of the data set and that is located outside of the media library in response to being provided with the information related to the changes made to the original copy of the data set; and
a media recall component, in communication with the data change component and the data identification component, that is configured to automatically initiate a recall of the identified physical media component that contains the second copy of the data set to the media library in response to(a) being provided with the information related to the changes made to the original copy of the data set and(b) at a time when the original copy of the data set is still stored by the local file system; and
an action component, in communication with the data change component and the data identification component, wherein the action component performs an action based on the changes made to the original copy of the data set stored by the local file system using the recalled media component.

Abstract
A system and method for determining media to be exported out of a media library is described. In some examples, the system determines a media component to be exported, determines the media component is in the media library for a specific process, and exports the media component after the process is completed.

6. A method implemented by at least one processor for recalling data storage media components to a media library based on changes made to data in a file system, comprising:
-
detecting information related to changes made to an original copy of a data set stored by a local file system, wherein the local file system is associated with a data storage system that comprises a media library, and, wherein a physical media component that is located outside of the media library contains a second copy of the data set; identifying the physical media component that contains the second copy of the data set and that is located outside of the media library in response to being provided with the information related to the changes made to the original copy of the data set; and in response to identifying the physical media component, automatically initiating a recall of the identified physical media component that contains the second copy of the data set to the media library in response to; (a) being provided with the information related to the changes made to the original copy of the data set, and (b) at a time when the original copy of the data set is still stored by the local file system; and performing an action based on the changes made to the original copy of the data set stored by the local file system using the recalled media component. - View Dependent Claims (7, 8, 9, 10)

11. A tangible computer-readable medium having computer-executable instructions that, when executed by a computer, perform a method for recalling data storage media components to a media library based on changes made to data in a file system, the method comprising:
-
detecting information related to changes made to an original copy of a data set stored by a local file system, wherein the local file system is associated with a data storage system that comprises a media library, and, wherein a physical media component that is located outside of the media library contains a second copy of the data set; identifying the physical media component that contains the second copy of the data set that is located outside of the media library in response to being provided with the information related to the changes made to the original copy of the data set; and in response to identifying the physical media component, automatically initiating a recall of the identified physical media component that contains the second copy of the data set to the media library in response to; (a) being provided with the information related to the changes made to the original copy of the data set, and (b) at a time when the original copy of the data set is still stored by the local file system; and performing an action based on the changes made to the original copy of the data set stored by the local file system using the recalled media component. - View Dependent Claims (12, 13, 14, 15)
