1. A method of carrying out electroporation of tissue, comprising:

  • inserting a gel in a form of colloidal dispersion into tissue in a patient wherein the gel conductivity is adjusted to be substantially the same as the conductivity of a surrounding tissue;

    applying current across the tissue in an amount so that cells of the tissue are subjected to electroporation;

    wherein when the current is applied to the tissue, a homogenous electrical field is applied and a specific area of targeted tissue is subjected to electroporation.
