1. A method of forming an edible shaped bread vessel, the method comprising:
- preparing leavened dough;
providing an unheated female baking form assembly comprising a linear array of one or more rows of shaped female baking forms, said female baking form assembly defining at least one opening at a base portion of said assembly;
inserting a bolus of the leavened dough into one or more of the shaped female baking forms;
providing a shaped mandrel;
providing a registration that is complimentary in both size and shape to the at least one opening, said registration being positioned relative to said mandrel;
registering said female baking form assembly under said shaped mandrel by engaging the registration into one of the openings;
heating the mandrel and pressing it into the bolus of dough within the female baking form, said heated mandrel partially forming and fixing the bolus of dough into a shape;
withdrawing said mandrel from said female baking form;
providing an unheated male baking form assembly comprising one or more rows of shaped male baking forms that are substantially complimentary to the female baking forms;
inserting the male baking form assembly into said female baking form assembly such that a male baking form captures the partially formed and partially cooked bolus of dough within a complimentary female baking form; and
spacing and securing the male baking form assembly to the female form assembly to provide an interstice between each male baking form and each corresponding female baking form.
