1. A method of providing spatial reuse in a wireless network for communicating compressed or uncompressed video/audio, the method comprising:

  • transmitting a bandwidth reservation request for data communication with a receiver to a coordinator;

    receiving a first response indicating availability of the receiver for the data communication;

    listening to a local channel for channel busy indication (CBI) messages transmitted by other stations in the wireless network;

    forming a local channel occupation report by the receiver based on the CBI messages, wherein the local channel occupation report comprising data indicative of one or more time periods during which one or more stations in the wireless network other than the receiver are scheduled to transmit data messages to the coordinator that can interfere with data communication by the receiver;

    transmitting the local channel occupation report from the receiver to the coordinator;

    receiving a second response comprising data indicative of one or more allocated channel time slots scheduled by the coordinator based on the local channel occupation report; and

    simultaneously transmitting audio and/or video (A/V) data by multiple stations to the receiver during the one or more allocated channel time slots while sharing a same frequency band channel.
