An endoscopic instrument comprising a shank (4), which is bendable in at least one section, an endoscope head (8), which forms the distal end of the shank (4) and in which distal-side interfaces of the instrument are arranged, wherein the endoscope head (8) is bendable, and wherein the endoscope head (8) includes a peripheral side wall (34) and a distal end wall (36) designed as one piece from an electro-active polymer, and electrodes (46, 48) arranged in the endoscope head (8) in the polymer, which electrodes may be subjected to electrical voltage.
