1. A golf ball comprising:
- a core having a diameter of about 1.4 inches to about 1.66 inches, comprising;
a) a center formed from a first rubber composition and having a diameter of from about 0.5 inches to about 1.45 inches, a center hardness of from about 35 Shore C to about 75 Shore C and a surface hardness of from 50 Shore C to 95 Shore C;
b) an intermediate core layer formed from a second rubber composition and having a surface hardness of about 80 Shore C or greater; and
c) an outer core layer formed from a third rubber composition and having a surface hardness of about 80 Shore C or greater; and
a cover layer formed from a composition having a material hardness of from about 30 Shore D to about 65 Shore D;
wherein the surface hardness of the intermediate core layer is greater than the surface hardness of the center and the surface hardness of the outer core layer.
