1. A method of removing contrast from a luminal organ, the method comprising the steps of:

  • inserting at least part of a device for removing contrast into a mammalian luminal organ, the device having a first detector and a balloon positioned along an elongated body, at least one lumen extending therethrough, and an aperture defined along the elongated body;

    detecting contrast present within the mammalian luminal organ by obtaining one or more initial conductance measurements within the mammalian luminal organ using the first detector, the one or more initial conductance measurements obtained without contrast present therein, and obtaining one or subsequent conductance measurements within the mammalian luminal organ using the first detector, wherein at least one of the one or more subsequent conductance measurements is a threshold percentage lower than at least one of the one or more initial conductance measurements;

    inflating the balloon to prohibit fluid flow within the mammalian luminal organ proximal to the balloon;

    removing contrast through the aperture of the device; and

    ceasing removal of contrast from the mammalian luminal organ when a threshold amount of contrast is no longer detected within the mammalian luminal organ.
