1. A frequency converter with a housing which is designed and envisaged for peripheral assembly on an electric motor, and whose base is designed in a heat-conducting manner and, in a middle region, is provided with longitudinal ribs on an outside, and on an inside is connected to heat-producing components of a power circuit of the frequency converter in a heat-conducting manner, wherein the base in at least one outer region comprises cooling ribs arranged on the outside transversely or obliquely to the longitudinal ribs, and on the inside comprises heat-producing components of an input circuit or an intermediate circuit or the input circuit and the intermediate circuit of the frequency converter, which are connected with a non-positive fit in heat-conducting manner to said base.
