1. A Neuro Sensing and Stimulation Device (NSSD), comprising:
- a conductive lead for implanting in a brain of a living entity, the conductive lead having a first portion for stimulation and a second portion for sensing;
a sensor coupled to the second portion of the conductive lead for collecting data in the brain associated with one or more electrical signals detected in the conductive lead;
a stimulator coupled to the first portion of the conductive lead to apply one or more electrical signals thereto;
a controller operable to;
collect data associated with one or more electrical signals detected in the conductive lead;
process the collected data to determine a stimulation sequence from the collected data; and
direct the stimulator to apply on the conductive lead one or more electrical signals determined from the stimulation sequence, wherein the controller communicates wirelessly with at least one of the sensor and the stimulator, and wherein the controller is operable to employ an artificial neural network (ANN) analysis on the collected data to determine a diagnosis.

Abstract
A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a Neuro Sensing and Stimulation Device having a conductive lead for implanting in a brain of a living entity, a sensor coupled to the conductive lead for collecting data associated with one or more electrical signals detected in the conductive lead, a stimulator coupled to the conductive lead to apply one or more electrical signals thereto, and a controller. The controller can be operable to collect data associated with one or more electrical signals detected in the conductive lead, determine a stimulation sequence from the collected data, and direct the stimulator to apply on the conductive lead one or more electrical signals determined from the stimulation sequence. Additional embodiments are disclosed.

14. A Controlling Device (CD), comprising a controller to:

direct a Neuro Sensing and Stimulation Device (NSSD) having a conductive lead implanted in a brain of a living entity to supply sensing data derived from electrical activity sensed from the brain and for stimulating the brain, the conductive lead having a first portion for stimulation and a second portion for sensing; receive from the NSSD sensing data collected by the NSSD by way of the second portion of the conductive lead; process the collected sensing data to determine stimulation instructions from the collected sensing data; and direct the first portion of the NSSD to apply one or more electrical signals to the brain of the living entity according to the stimulation instructions, wherein the controller is operable to employ an artificial neural network (ANN) analysis on the collected sensing data to determine a diagnosis. - View Dependent Claims (15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35)
