1. A surgical device for measuring properties of an eye, comprising:

  • a wavefront sensor for performing refractive measurements of the eye, the wavefront sensor comprising a light source configured to produce a wavefront sensor illumination beam, one or more fasteners to removably attach the wavefront sensor below a stereo surgical microscope having a support structure to movably support the stereo surgical microscope over a patient'"'"'s eye, the stereo surgical microscope for providing a field of view,wherein the one or more fasteners support the wavefront sensor in position relative to the stereo surgical microscope such that the wavefront sensor is fixedly optically aligned with the stereo surgical microscope along an optical pathway from the stereo surgical microscope to the eye when the wavefront sensor is attached to the stereo surgical microscope, the optical pathway being shared by the stereo surgical microscope and wavefront sensor,wherein the surgical microscope and the wavefront sensor do not share a lens.
