- a porous substrate selected from paper, foam, wallboard, wallpaper, ceiling tile, fabric, or fibers; and
fluid treatment media (i) on an outer surface of the porous substrate, (ii) within the porous substrate, or (iii) both (i) and (ii), said fluid treatment media comprising a physical mixture of;
a first set of particles or beads comprising an anti-microbial component coating on a support material with the anti-microbial component coating comprising one or more coating layers on said support material, said anti-microbial component comprising a transition metal, a transition metal oxide, a transition metal salt, or a combination thereof; and
a second set of particles or beads comprising a scale inhibitor comprising an inorganic phosphate, a phosphonate, a polycarboxylate, or a combination thereof.

a porous sheet-like substrate having opposite first and second major surfaces and an outer edge extending (i) around an outer periphery of said porous sheet-like substrate and (ii) separating said opposite first and second major surfaces from one another; and fluid treatment media (i) on an outer surface of the porous sheet-like substrate, (ii) within the porous sheet-like substrate, or (iii) both (i) and (ii), said fluid treatment media comprising; a first set of particles or beads comprising an anti-microbial component coating on a particulate support material with the anti-microbial component coating comprising one or more coating layers on said particulate support material, said anti-microbial component comprising a transition metal, a transition metal oxide, a transition metal salt, or a combination thereof; wherein at least a portion of each of said first and second major surfaces is exposed, and each of said opposite first and second major surfaces is free of an adhesive coating. - View Dependent Claims (12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17)
