1. A non-transitory computer readable storage medium having stored therein instructions for causing a processor to carry out acts comprising:
- receiving a data series for a tradeable object being traded at an electronic exchange, where the data series is dynamically updated according to market updates from the electronic exchange; and
displaying the received data series relative to a price chart having a time axis and a chart axis, the time axis having a recent data region and an older data region, a linear time scale for the recent data region and a linear time scale for the older data region forming a continuous non-linear time scale where the linear time scale for the recent data region is different than the linear time scale for the older data region and, and where in response to receiving new data, at least a portion of data displayed in the recent data region is moved from the recent data region to the older data region.

Abstract
A system and method are provided for displaying a data series. In one embodiment, a graphical interface is provided including at least one axis that is divided into a plurality of axis regions. Preferably, each axis region uses a different linear scale, and the plurality of axis regions forms a continuous non-linear scale. The graphical interface also displays the data series in relation to the plurality of axis regions, and the data series is plotted in relation to each axis region based on a scale resolution corresponding to each respective axis region.
