1. A process for directly chemically binding microcapsules having a sole or outer shell of urea-formaldehyde, melamine-formaldehyde, polyamide or chitosan to fibres, comprising reacting free amino (—

  • NH) or hydroxyl (—

OH) groups of the shell with a first functional group of a bifunctional compound and reacting a second functional group of the same bifunctional compound with the fibres, whereby the microcapsule is directly bonded to the fibre, through the bifunctional compound, by covalent chemical binding, wherein the bifunctional compound comprises first and second reactive functional groups, the first reactive function group is selected from the group consisting of epoxy group, halogen-substituted alkyl group, and vinyl group and wherein the second reactive functional group is a functional group selected for reaction with the fibres.
