1. A method of using a mobile terminal for insertion, decryption, and recording of a user identification module (UIM) card, comprising:

  • the mobile terminal reading from the UIM card a mobile identification number, authorization information and personal information stored in the UIM card inserted into a UIM card slot of the mobile terminal, wherein the mobile terminal is configured to directly access both a wireless Internet network and a local area wireless communication network;

    the mobile terminal comparing a user entered password with authorization information read from the UIM card;

    transmitting information from the UIM card to the mobile terminal for(a) displaying a menu for accessing at least one non-voice data service selected from the group consisting of a payment service, a transaction particulars inquiry service, a prepaid card recharging service, a ticketing and utilization service, and a traffic card issuing and utilization service, and(b) enabling the user to select from the menu a desired non-voice data service, responsive to a determination that the user entered password matches the read authorization information; and

    the mobile terminal providing the user with the desired non-voice data service based on service data from the UIM card and/or a service providing system, depending upon a type of the desired non-voice data service, by(i) transmitting/receiving necessary service data to/from the UIM card and the service providing system through the wireless Internet network without accessing the local area wireless communication network, if the desired non-voice data service is a first type of non-voice data service that requires communications with and the data from the service providing system, and(ii) transmitting/receiving necessary service data to/from the UIM card and a local area wireless communication terminal through the local area wireless communication network without accessing the wireless Internet network, if the desired non-voice data service is a second type of non-voice data service that does not require communications between the mobile terminal and the service providing system.
