1. An image recording apparatus which forms an image using the ink set for inkjet recording, comprising an ink set for inkjet recording, comprising:
- a water-based ink containing pigment particles and 10 to 25 wt % of water-soluble organic solvent having an SP value of not higher than 30 (MPa)1/2 and a boiling point of 200°
C. or higher at 1 atm; and
a treatment liquid containing a fluidity reducing agent which reduces fluidity of the pigment particles by making contact with the water-based ink, and 10 to 25 wt % of water-soluble organic solvent having an SP value of not higher than 30 (MPa)1/2 and a boiling point of 200°
C. or higher at 1 atm, wherein the water-based ink and the treatment liquid are substantially free from organic solvent having an SP value of higher then than 30 (MPa)1/2.
