Devices and methods for treating defects in the tissue of a living being
First Claim
1. An implant for the repair or regeneration of bone, said implant comprising a generally elongated cylindrical structure formed of an outer sleeve material with a longitudinal passageway formed therein and an inner core material extending through said longitudinal passageway, with at least a portion of said outer sleeve material comprising native insoluble collagen fibers, with at least a portion of said inner core material comprising soluble collagen, wherein said implant is porous, wherein said pores are at least about 100 microns in size, wherein said outer sleeve material and said inner core material are resorbable, with said outer sleeve material resorbing faster than said inner core material, andwherein the implant is arranged to be implanted in the body of a living being during an implant procedure.
