1. A computer-implemented method, comprising:

  • receiving, using one or more processing units, a selection of a plurality of data items associated with one or more applications in a file system, wherein a data item has an associated icon, and wherein the selection of a plurality of data items includes one or more files, one or more folders, or one or more applications;

    invoking, using the one or more processing units, a selected data item, wherein invoking the selected data item causes a menu to be displayed;

    displaying the menu, wherein the menu is displayed using the one or more processing units, and wherein the menu includes a plurality of options;

    receiving, using the one or more processing units, a selection of an option displayed in the menu; and

    performing, using the one or more processing units, a single operation corresponding to the selected option, wherein performing the single operation both generates a new folder and associates the plurality of selected data items with the new folder.
