1. A device comprising:
- a disposable having a plurality of cavities;
an electrically powered force generator configured to be coupled to a penetrating member, and coupled to a processor that provides instruction to the electrically power force generator;
a plurality of penetrating members at least partially contained in said cavities of the single disposable wherein the penetrating members are slidably movable to extend outward from lateral openings associated with the plurality of penetrating members on said disposable to penetrate tissue;
a single fracturable sterility barrier that covers the lateral openings in order to maintain at least a tip of each of the penetrating members in the cavities in a sterile environment prior to launch; and
a punch positioned and movable to penetrate that portion of the fracturable sterility barrier covering the lateral opening associated with one of the penetrating members to release the penetrating member from the sterile environment created by that portion of the sterility barrier during launch of the penetrating member so that the penetrating member exits the lateral opening without contacting the barrier.

Abstract
A device for use with a gripper is provided. A cartridge is provided that defines a plurality of cavities. A plurality of penetrating members are at least partially contained in the cavities of the cartridge. The penetrating members are slidably movable to extend outward from the cartridge to penetrate tissue. Each cavity has a longitudinal opening that provides access to an elongate portion of the penetrating member. A sterility barrier is coupled to the cartridge. The sterility barrier covers a plurality of the longitudinal openings. The sterility barrier is configured to be moved so that the elongate portion is accessed by the gripper without touching the barrier.
