1. An intervertebral implant comprising:

  • a three-dimensional body comprising;

    a posterior face and anterior face, wherein the posterior face and anterior face are each curved and substantially parallel to each other, and extend along a longitudinal axis of the implant body, the distance between the posterior face and the anterior face defining a width of the body;

    a first end portion and a second end portion separating the curved posterior and anterior faces, the distance between the two end portions defining a length of the body, at least the first end portion is at least partially curved;

    a superior face and an inferior face for contacting at least a portion of a first and a second vertebra, the distance between the superior and inferior faces defining a thickness of the implant; and

    at least two non-threaded recessed portions configured and adapted for engagement by an implant insertion tool, at least one of the recessed portions disposed along at least a portion of the posterior face, at least one of the recessed portions disposed along at least a portion of the anterior face,wherein the implant is formed of two or more bone pieces fastened together with pins or screws, to form a single unit,wherein at least one of the superior and inferior faces include a plurality of undulations thereon to resist migration when implanted between two vertebrae,wherein the length of the body is greater than the width of the body, andwherein the at least partially curved first end portion includes at least a partially chamfered edge with at least one of the superior and inferior faces to facilitate insertion of the implant in between the two vertebrae.
