1. A hospital bed, comprising:
- a base frame having a perimeter extending about an open center space with a pair of long side square tubes attached to a pair of short side square tubes;
four casters, one each attached to each corner portion of the base frame, the casters having heads with brake locks;
first and second laterally extending hex rods having opposing first and second ends, one extending through each of the short side square tubes, the first hex rod attached to the heads of a front two of the caster heads and the second hex rod attached to a back two of the caster heads;
a first clevis and a second clevis, the first clevis mounted to the first end of the first hex rod and the second clevis mounted to the first end of the second hex rod;
a drive shaft having opposing first and second ends extending through one long side square tube of the base frame, the drive shaft first end attached to the first clevis and the drive shaft second end attached to the second clevis; and
a hydraulic cylinder attached to the drive shaft, wherein, when activated, the cylinder rocks the two devises, which rotates the attached hex rods and locks or unlocks the brakes on all four of the casters.
