1. A configurable antenna structure comprises:

  • a plurality of switches;

    a plurality of antenna components; and

    a configuration module operable to;

    configure the plurality of switches and the plurality of antenna components into a first antenna for receiving a multiple frequency band multiple standard (MFBMS) signal to correspond with a MFBMS mask that includes the MFBMS signal;

    when the MFBMS signal is received, identify a signal component of interest of a plurality of signal components of interest within the MFBMS signal, wherein the signal component of interest corresponds to a standard of a plurality of standards, and wherein the plurality of standards span a plurality of frequency bands; and

    configure the plurality of switches and the plurality of antenna components into a second antenna to correspond with a second mask that includes the signal component of interest, wherein the second antenna has at least one of;

    a resonant frequency corresponding to a frequency of the signal component of interest and a directional radiation pattern based on the signal component of interest and wherein a frequency band of the second mask is a subset of a frequency band of the MFBMS mask.
