1. An apparatus for applying sealant to a target tissue site, the apparatus comprising:

  • an end effector operatively configured to be able to substantially surround the target tissue site, the end effector having a first jaw member and a second jaw member, the first jaw member and the second jaw member defining an opening therebetween when the first jaw member and the second jaw member are in an approximated position, the end effector including locking means for maintaining the jaw members in the approximated position;

    the first jaw member defining a first reservoir extending longitudinally along an entire length thereof, and the second jaw member defining a second reservoir extending longitudinally along an entire length thereof; and

    a conduit in fluid association with the end effector for conveying sealant to the end effector for dispensing onto the target tissue site, wherein the first reservoir and the second reservoir define a single continuous reservoir between the first jaw member and the second jaw member when the first jaw member and the second jaw member are in the approximated position.
