First Claim
1. A method of transmitting symbols by a user equipment in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
- receiving a timing adjustment command from a base station, the timing adjustment command advancing a transmission timing of uplink transmission;
generating a first symbol by adding a first cyclic prefix (CP) to a first inverse fourier transformed samples, the first CP being copied from the first inverse fourier transformed samples;
generating a second symbol by adding a second CP to a second inverse fourier transformed samples, the second CP being copied from the second inverse fourier transformed samples,wherein the timing adjustment command is applied starting from the second symbol;
forming a modified second symbol by removing samples overlapped with the first symbol from the second symbol when the first symbol and the second symbol are overlapped due to the timing adjustment; and
transmitting the first symbol and the modified second symbol to the base station,wherein the transmitted first symbol has a complete size and the transmitted modified second symbol has a partial size.

Abstract
A user equipment and method of transmitting symbols by the user equipment in a wireless communication system. The method includes: generating a first symbol by adding a cyclic prefix (CP) to a first inverse fourier transformed samples, the CP being copied from the first fourier transformed samples; generating a next consecutive second symbol by adding a CP to a second inverse fourier transformed samples, the CP being copied from the second fourier transformed samples; removing samples overlapped with the first symbol from the next consecutive second symbol when the next consecutive second symbol is to be advanced in transmission timing; and transmitting the first symbol and the next consecutive second symbol to a base station.
