1. A method of operating a wireless communications network for providing services to users exploiting first and second different radio communication technology technologies, the first radio communication technology having a higher access capability than the second radio communication technology, the method comprising:
- providing, in a user profile available at the wireless communications network, a subscription indication indicating that the user has subscribed to services using the first radio communication technology;
upon reception by the wireless communications network of a capability indication from the user indicating to the wireless communications network that the user supports the first radio communication technology;
determining if the user has subscribed to services using the first radio communication technology based on the subscription indication;
forwarding the capability indication to a network device to allow an access capability according to the first radio communication technology when it is determined that the user has subscribed to services using the first radio communication technology; and
overriding the capability indication with an access capability according to the second radio communication technology and forwarding the overridden capability indication to the network device to provide services to the user using the second radio communication technology instead of the first radio communication technology when it is determined that the user has not subscribed to services using the first radio communication technology.

Abstract
A method of operating a wireless communications network is adapted to provide services to users exploiting a first and a second different radio communications technologies, for example, an enhanced general packet radio service network. The method includes: providing, in a user profile available at the network, a subscription indication adapted to indicate that the user has subscribed for being provisioned with the network services through the first radio communication technology, upon reception by the network of a capability indication from the user adapted to indicate to the network that the user supports the first radio communications technology, looking up the user profile for the presence of the subscription indication; and in case the subscription indication is not found, handling the user as if supporting the second radio communications technology but not the first radio communications technology.
