1. A method of producing an isolated cell population wherein greater than about 91% of the cells in said cell population co-express CD49c and CD90, comprising the steps of:

  • a) providing a source population of cells; and

    ,b) culturing said source cell population at a seeding density of less than about 100 cells/cm2 under a low oxygen condition.
