Methods and systems for multi-mode signal quality reporting
First Claim
1. A method for wireless communications by a multi-mode mobile station that supports communications with a plurality of radio access technologies (RATs) including at least one short range RAT and at least one long range RAT, comprising:
- establishing a first connection with a first network via a short range RAT supported by the mobile station;
receiving, via the first connection, a paging message comprising paging information for a plurality of long range RATs;
taking signal quality measurements for one or more long range RATs supported by the mobile station; and
transmitting the signal quality measurements via the first connection of the short range RAT;
the paging message indicating that a paging request for the mobile station is detected on a second network that supports at least one of the one or more long range RATs supported by the mobile station.

Abstract
Certain embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method for wireless communications by a multi-mode mobile station that supports communications with a plurality of radio access technologies (RATs). The RATs may include at least one short range RAT and at least one long range RAT. The method generally includes establishing a first connection with a first network via a short range RAT supported by the mobile station, taking signal quality measurements for one or more long range RAT supported by the mobile station, and transmitting the signal quality measurements via the first connection.
