- (A) storing a first software list indicating a first plurality of software programs required by the first business system, and a second software list indicating a second plurality of software programs required by the second business system;
(B) in the server pool, and based on the first software list and the second software list, creating;
a first group for managing all of the first plurality of software programs installed on a first computer;
a second group for managing all of the second plurality of software programs installed on a second computer; and
a third group for managing a software program installed on a third computer which is common to both the first plurality of software programs and the second plurality of software programs,(C1) for the first business system, searching the first computer from the first group then searching the third computer from the third group, and allocating the searched first computer to the first business system, and(C2) for the second business system, searching the second computer from the second group then searching the third computer from the third group, and allocating the searched second computer to the second business system, andwherein the managing computer installs an additional software program which is lacking in the first plurality of software programs or second plurality of software programs other than the common software programs installed in the selected computer, if the selected computer is selected from the third group.

Abstract
Standby computers are dynamically divided into groups according to the difference between the software thereof and the software required of a business system. When a computer is made available, the standby computers divided into groups by software structure are searched and an appropriate one is extracted to quickly complete the construction of the software environment. An active computer, if to be transferred to standby mode, is associated with the group having the same software structure as the business system with which the active computer has thus far operated. The active/standby states of the computers are monitored, and the standby computers are changed thereby to widen the possible range of application to other business systems, removing copy operation of disk images from the active computer to the standby computers.
