Method and apparatus for content presentation in a tandem user interface
First Claim
1. A system for presenting viewable content in a manner which mimics task delineation among a right brain hemisphere and a left brain hemisphere and for enabling selection of viewable content, the system comprising:
- A) a first display device coupled to a compilation of selectable and viewable content objects to stimulate activity in the right brain hemisphere by presenting substantially visual, non-textual information;
B) a second display device coupled to metadata associated with the content objects to stimulate activity in the left brain hemisphere by presenting substantially textual information, wherein the second display device is separate from the first display device; and
C) a data structure stored in a memory device and comprising data identifying a ranking of a first content object representing an emotional motivation value of the subject to select the first content object.

Abstract
A system for accurately modeling of buyer/purchaser psychology and ranking of content objects within a channel for user initiated browsing and presentation contains a neuropsychological modeling engine, a ranking application, and a behavior modeler which communicate with each other and a presentation system over communication networks. The neuropsychological modeling engine utilizes metafiles associated with content objects, a purchaser/viewer model and a channel model to derive a value ψ representing an individual'"'"'s mood and a value m representing an individual'"'"'s motivational strength to select a content object. If the value ψ is within an acceptable predetermined range, the value m is used to determine a ranking for the content object relative to other content objects associated with the channel model. Also disclosed are a system and technique for simultaneously presenting multiple, s content object data streams on the user interface in a manner which encourages multidimensional browsing using traditional navigation commands.

9. A system for display and navigation of multiple data streams comprising:
-
a first video display device defining a video display area to stimulate activity in a right brain hemisphere by presenting substantially visual, non-textual information; a second video display device in communication with but separate from the first video display device to stimulate activity in a left brain hemisphere by presenting substantially textual information; a control interface operatively coupled to the first video display device to provide a plurality of navigation controls for enabling a user to sequentially select one of a plurality of sub-areas within the video display area, each selectable sub-area associated with one of a first plurality of content object streams arranged according to a predetermined order of one of increasing and decreasing emotional motivation of a viewer to select the one content object stream; and a graphics engine for receiving command signals associated with one of the navigation controls to initiate presentation on the first video display device of a selected primary content object stream from the first plurality of content object streams simultaneously with presentation of others of the first plurality of content object streams arranged according to a predefined criteria. - View Dependent Claims (10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18)
