1. An index matching device comprising:
- a curved patient interface lens having a shape that in part follows a curvature of an eye to which the index matching device is coupled;
a sidewall comprising a top surface and a bottom surface;
a planar glass plate that extends along a plane, wherein the curved patient interface lens is attached to the top surface and the planar glass plate is attached to the bottom surface;
wherein the side wall extends, from the planar glass plate to the curved patient interface lens, perpendicular to the plane, and wherein the curved patient interface lens, the side wall and the planar glass place define a fluid tight volume of a fluid reservoir;
a leg; and
,a laser device docking member, wherein a first end of the leg is attached to the side wall and a second end of the leg is attached to the laser device docking member.

Abstract
There is provided a device for use as an interface between a laser surgery device and the eye of a patient. The device is filled with a liquid that matches the index of refraction of the eye. The device further has a curved lens that follows the curvature of the outer surface of the patient'"'"'s eye. In this manner the interface device, through which the laser beam must travel, has essentially the same index of refraction as the eye.
