1. A rechargeable battery comprising:

  • a bare cell comprising a can having an electrode assembly and an electrode terminal extending from one surface of the bare cell;

    a battery circuit electrically coupled to the bare cell, the battery circuit comprising a bare cell charge-discharge circuit and an antenna circuit;

    a case connected to the electrode terminal for receiving and covering the battery circuit; and

    an antenna assembly on an outer surface of the can of the bare cell, the outer surface being different from the one surface of the bare cell facing the battery circuit, the antenna assembly comprising;

    a line antenna for receiving a radio frequency signal, the line antenna being coupled to the antenna circuit;

    a first layer covering the line antenna;

    a substrate between the outer surface of the bare cell and the first layer, the line antenna being on the substrate; and

    a second layer between the substrate and the outer surface of the bare cell,wherein the outer surface of the can is coupled to at least one side surface of the can that is narrower than the outer surface, and the outer surface has two opposite barrier walls for fixing the antenna assembly thereto and two opposite sides having open ends defined by the barrier walls.
