10. A system for facilitating the monitoring of physiological data, comprising:
-
an optical scanner configured to translate an optical machine-readable representation of data (OMRD) into electronic scanned data, the OMRD representing data related to the sensor; and a monitor comprising a memory device and a processor programmed to; receive the electronic scanned data from the optical reader; compare or combine the electronic scanned data with electronic stored data in a sensor that is configured to electronically communicate with the monitor; disable operation with the sensor if the scanned data does not match the stored data or if combination of the scanned data and the stored data provides insufficient information to enable operation of the sensor with the monitor; and enable operation of the sensor if the scanned data matches the stored data or if combination of the scanned data and the stored data provides sufficient information to enable operation of the sensor with the monitor. - View Dependent Claims (11, 12, 13, 14)
