1. A surgical implant for treating urinary incontinence by supporting a urethra of a patient, the implant comprising:

  • a first suspending member having a proximal portion and a distal portion;

    a second suspending member having a proximal portion and a distal portion, each of the first suspending member and the second suspending member fabricated of one or more flexible filaments;

    a first anchor connected to the distal portion of the first suspending member;

    a second anchor connected to the distal portion of the second suspending member; and

    a suburethral sling configured to support the urethra of the patient and treat urinary incontinence, the suburethral sling including a first coupling mechanism configured to slidalbly receive the proximal portion of the first suspending member and to releasably secure the proximal portion of the first suspending member to the suburethral sling at any location along a continuous length of the proximal portion.
