1. A processor, comprising:
- (a) a first data input configured to receive a first stream of samples representing a first signal having a spectral characteristic defined by a respective modulation pattern, the stream having a data rate of at least 4 GHz;
(b) a second data input configured to receive a second stream of samples representing a second signal having a spectral characteristic defined by a respective modulation pattern;
(c) a multitap correlator, configured to receive the first stream of samples and the second stream of samples, and producing at least one correlation output for each respective sequential sample of the first stream of samples; and
(d) a programmable control configured to alter at least a temporal relationship of the first stream of samples with respect to the second stream of samples, each of the first stream of samples and the second stream of samples being generated independent of the programmable control, to thereby select, under program control, an alterable correlation output,wherein the programmable control comprises a switch matrix configured to selectively route at least one of the first stream of signals and the second stream of signals.

Abstract
A processor, comprising a first data input configured to receive a stream of samples of a first signal having a spectral space, the stream having a data rate of at least 4 GHz; a second data input configured to receive a stream of samples of a second signal; a multitap correlator, configured to receive the first stream of samples and the second stream of samples, and producing at least one correlation output for each respective sequential sample of the first signal received; and a programmable control configured to alter a relationship of the stream of samples of the first signal and the stream of samples of the second signal, to thereby select, under program control, an alterable correlation output.

10. A processing method, comprising:
-
receiving a first stream of samples representing a first signal having a spectral characteristic defined by a respective modulation pattern, the stream having a data rate of at least 4 GHz; receiving a second stream of samples representing a second signal having a spectral characteristic defined by a respective modulation pattern; receiving the first stream of samples and the second stream of samples by a multitap correlator, and producing at least one correlation output for each respective sequential sample of the first stream of samples; and altering at least a temporal relationship of the first stream of samples with respect to the second stream of samples in dependence on a programmable control, each of the first stream of samples and the second stream of samples being generated independent of the programmable control, to thereby select, under program control, an alterable correlation output, further comprising controlling a switch matrix with the programmable control to selectively route at least one of the first stream of signals and the second stream of signals. - View Dependent Claims (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19)
