1. A method to use real-time measurement systems to detect the onset of compression induced microfracturing of fiber-reinforced composite materials, comprising:

  • a) measuring an electrical resistivity between different portions of the fiber-reinforced composite materials, andb) determining an invasion of conductive fluids in the microfractures of said fiber-reinforced composite materials by measuring changes in electrical resistivity over a time interval between different portions of the fiber-reinforced composite materials.
