1. A method comprising:
- determining a source Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) and a download URI of a resource downloaded from a network to a user workstation, the source URI identifying a number of available resources and comprising a location usable for reaching a web page containing at least one link and the download URI comprising a location usable for reaching, by activating one of the at least one link, the resource which is downloaded;
extracting meta data from the downloaded resource;
storing the source URI, the download URI, and the extracted meta data on the user workstation in a storage repository, in association with identifying information for the downloaded resource, for subsequently populating a search query;
presenting a user interface to a user of the user workstation, the user interface containing a plurality of fields;
receiving, from the user, resource identifying information in a first of the fields;
using the resource identifying information to access the storage repository and to retrieve therefrom the previously-stored meta data, source URI, and download URI;
preloading the retrieved meta data, the retrieved source URI, and the retrieved download URI in corresponding second ones of the fields;
populating the search query from the second ones of the fields, after any user edits thereto;
performing a network search, using the populated search query, for a second resource located in a network neighborhood of the downloaded resource, the network neighborhood comprising one or more additional resources which are each distinct from the downloaded resource and which each share at least one common characteristic with the downloaded resource and the second resource being distinct from the downloaded resource; and
displaying results of the network search on the user interface of the user workstation.

Abstract
A method includes determining a source URI and extracting meta data from a resource downloaded from a network; storing the source URI and extracted meta data; and utilizing the stored URI and extracted meta data to formulate a search for another resource located on the network. A computer and computer program code are also provided.

9. A computer program product comprising a non-transitory computer useable medium having a computer readable program, wherein the computer readable program when executed on a computer causes the computer to:
-
determine a source Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) and a download URI of a resource downloaded from a network to a user workstation, the source URI identifying a number of available resources and comprising a location usable for reaching a web page containing at least one link and the download URI comprising a location usable for reaching, by activating one of the at least one link, the resource which is downloaded; extract meta data from the downloaded resource; store the source URI, the download URI, and the extracted meta data on the user workstation in a storage repository, in association with resource identifying information for the downloaded resource, for subsequently populating a search query; present a user interface to a user of the user workstation, the user interface containing a plurality of fields; receive, from the user, resource identifying information in a first of the fields; use the resource identifying information to access the storage repository and to retrieve therefrom the previously-stored meta data, source URI, and download URI; preload the retrieved meta data, the retrieved source URI, and the retrieved download URI in corresponding second ones of the fields; populate the search query from the second ones of the fields, after any user edits thereto; perform a network search, using the populated search query, a network neighborhood of the downloaded resource, the network neighborhood comprising one or more additional resources which are each distinct from the downloaded resource and which each share at least one common characteristic with the downloaded resource; and display results of the network search on the user interface of the user workstation. - View Dependent Claims (10, 11, 12)

13. A computer configured to:
-
determine a source Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) and a download URI of a resource downloaded from a network to a user workstation, the source URI identifying a number of available resources and comprising a location usable for reaching a web page containing at least one link and the download URI comprising a location usable for reaching, by activating one of the at least one link, the resource which is downloaded; extract meta data from the downloaded resource; store the source URI, the download URI, and the extracted meta data on the user workstation in a storage repository, in association with resource identifying information for the downloaded resource, for subsequently populating a search query; delete the downloaded resource from the user workstation, while retaining the stored source URI, the stored download URI, and the stored meta data in the storage repository in association with the resource identifying information for the downloaded resource; present a user interface to a user of the user workstation, the user interface containing a plurality of fields; receive, from the user, resource identifying information in a first of the fields; use the resource identifying information to access the storage repository and to retrieve therefrom the previously-stored meta data, source URI, and download URI; preload the retrieved meta data, the retrieved source URI, and the retrieved download URI in corresponding second ones of the fields, where the second ones of the fields are editable in the user interface by the user; populate the search query from the second ones of the fields, after any editing of the second ones of the fields by the user; perform a network search, using the populated search query, for a new copy of the downloaded resource in a network neighborhood of the downloaded resource in response to a request by the user to search the network neighborhood, the network neighborhood comprising one or more resources which each share at least one characteristic in common with the downloaded resource; and display results of the network search on the user interface. - View Dependent Claims (14, 15, 16, 17, 18)
