1. A system for determining rules of presentation for secondary media content to be associated with at least one media segment, the system comprising:
- an association module comprising one or more computer processors, the association module configured to;
determine identifying data corollary to the at least one media segment;
determine the rules of presentation based on one or more criteria presented using an electronic output device;
determine a secondary media content based at least partly on the identifying data corollary to the at least one media segment and the rules of presentation, whereby the determination associates the secondary media content with a secondary media content identifier;
associate in a database the secondary media content identifier with the identifying data corollary to the at least one media segment, whereby the associating determines data that enables the identification of a specific association of the secondary media content identifier with the identifying data corollary to the at least one media segment;
store the data that enables the identification of the specific association of the secondary media content identifier with the identifying data corollary to the at least one media segment on a computer server system configured to enable distribution of at least the secondary media content to at least one receiving device according to the rules of presentation; and
a memory for storing at a minimum the identifying in data corolla to the at least one media segment.

Abstract
The disclosure herein provides systems and methods for a media enhancement system configured to associate a secondary media signal (for example, the secondary media signal can comprise an advertisement) to a primary media signal (for example, a radio broadcast). The disclosure herein additionally provides systems and methods for a media enhancement system that enables the generating, transmitting, displaying, and/or responding to a plurality of associated and/or unassociated secondary media signals, based on a primary media content from a primary media signal, user characteristics (for example, demographic and/or geographic information), and/or third-party preferences (for example, the goals of advertisers). The secondary media signals can be used to enhance the primary media content already being provided to the user on a user device. The secondary media signals can also be used to create psychological associations or relationships with the primary media content already being provided to the user.
