System and method for granting promotional rewards to both customers and non-customers

1. A method, comprising:
- receiving, electronically, a login request from a user at a terminal that is configured for conducting financial transactions;
determining, by a computer processor, a customer status of the user that comprises determining whether the user is an existing customer or a potential customer of a financial institution associated with the terminal, wherein the existing customer is a present account-holder with the financial institution and the potential customer is not a present account-holder with the financial institution;
accessing, by the computer processor, information related to the user based upon the customer status;
applying, by the computer processor, a set of business rules to the information related to the user;
presenting at least one offer, comprising a redeemable indicia, electronically, to the user based on the application of the set of business rules and based on an identity of a financial institution associated with the user;
displaying, using the computer processor, upon the user completing a triggering behavior, the redeemable indicia; and
converting the user to an existing customer upon determining the user to be a potential customer and wherein the converting enables the user to redeem the redeemable indicia.
