Providing a downlink control structure in a first carrier to indicate control information in a second, different carrier
First Claim
1. A method for wireless communication, comprising:
- receiving, by a mobile station, a downlink control structure in a first carrier, wherein the downlink control structure indicates that control information for the mobile station is on a second, different carrier, and wherein the downlink control structure specifies a location and size of the control information in the second carrier; and
decoding, by the mobile station, the control information in the second carrier, wherein the control information specifies resource allocation of a wireless link for the mobile station; and
wherein said decoding comprises using the location and size of the control information specified by the downlink control structure;
wherein receiving the downlink control structure comprises receiving the downlink control structure that has been scrambled using a special radio network temporary identifier (RNTI) for a group of mobile stations with Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access (EUTRA)-advanced multi-carrier capability.

Abstract
A mobile station receives a downlink control structure in a first carrier, where the downlink control structure indicates that control information for the mobile station is on a second, different carrier. The mobile station decodes the control information in the second carrier, where the control information specifies resource allocation of a wireless link for the mobile station. More specifically, according to some implementations, the control channel in the first carrier specifies the resource allocation for an extended control channel in the second carrier, where the extended control channel specifies the resource allocation for traffic data of a wireless link for the mobile station.

14. A base station comprising:
-
an interface to communicate wirelessly with a mobile station; and a processor configured to; provide for wireless communications with the mobile station using an aggregation of plural carriers; send a downlink control structure on a first of the plural carriers to the mobile station, wherein the downlink control structure identifies control information in at least a second carrier different from the first carrier, and wherein the downlink control structure specifies a location and size of the control information in the second carrier; and send the control information to be decoded by the mobile station in a downlink control channel of the second carrier; wherein receiving the downlink control structure comprises receiving the downlink control structure that has been scrambled using a special radio network temporary identifier (RNTI) for a group of mobile stations with Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access (EUTRA)-advanced multi-carrier capability. - View Dependent Claims (15, 16)
