Abstract

Advanced payment applications are provided to improve the functionality of cards and devices. For example, a user interface may be placed on a card (e.g., a physical button) or a telephonic device (e.g., a virtual button on a capacitive touch screen). Manual input provided to this user interface may, for example, cause an item purchased on credit to be paid via one or more user accounts (e.g., bank accounts) as soon as the next credit statement posts or becomes due. A user may decide to pay for an item when the next statement becomes due at a point-of-sale magnetic stripe reader by using an interface on a card to cause information to be communicated through the infrastructure indicative of a user'"'"'s desire to pay the for an item when the next statement becomes due.

Claims

1. A card comprising:

a dynamic magnetic stripe communications device;

a first button;

a second button;

a third button; and

a memory, wherein a first data is stored on said memory associated with said first button, a second data is stored on said memory associated with said second button, a third data is stored on said memory associated with said third button, said first data is communicated through said dynamic magnetic stripe communications device, said first data causes a credit account to be debited by a first amount when the next statement for said credit account posts.

2. The card of claim 1, further comprising a processor.

3. The card of claim 1, further comprising:

a processor; and

an integrated circuit (IC) chip.

4. The card of claim 1, further comprising:

a processor; and

a radio frequency identification (RFID).

5. The card of claim 1, further comprising:

an integrated circuit (IC) chip; and

a radio frequency identification (RFID).

6. The card of claim 1, further comprising a clock.

7. The card of claim 1, further comprising:

a light emitting diode (LED) associated with said first button; and

a display.

8. The card of claim 1, further comprising a wireless communication device.

9. The card of claim 1, further comprising a sound sensor.

10. The card of claim 1, wherein said first data causes a credit account to be debited by a second amount upon posting of a statement for said credit account following said next statement.

11. A card comprising:

a dynamic magnetic stripe communications device;

a first button;

a second button;

a third button; and

a memory, wherein a first data is stored on said memory associated with said first button, a second data is stored on said memory associated with said second button, a third data is stored on said memory associated with said third button, said first data is communicated through said dynamic magnetic stripe communications device, said first data causes any outstanding bill for a credit account to be paid.

12. The card of claim 11, further comprising a processor.

13. The card of claim 11, further comprising:

a processor; and

an integrated circuit (IC) chip.

14. The card of claim 11, further comprising:

a processor; and

a radio frequency identification (RFID).

15. The card of claim 11, further comprising:

an integrated circuit (IC) chip; and

a radio frequency identification (RFID).

16. The card of claim 11, further comprising a clock.

17. The card of claim 11, further comprising:

a light emitting diode (LED) associated with said first button; and

a display.

18. The card of claim 11, further comprising a wireless communication device.

19. The card of claim 11, further comprising a sound sensor.

20. The card of claim 11, wherein said second data causes an alert update.
