1. A method of processing calls, the method comprising:

  • receiving an indication that a first call from a caller is being received at a user mobile device associated with a user;

    determining, via at least one computing system, if the user mobile device is set to a silent mode;

    determining, via at least one computing system, if the caller is eligible to modify operation of the silent mode;

    determining, via at least one computing system, whether the user has answered the first call from the caller;

    at least partly in response to determining that the first user has not answered the first call and that the caller is eligible to modify operation of the silent mode, providing an outgoing message to the caller, the messaging indicating that the caller;

    can leave a voice message for the user, orprovide an entry via a user interface to notify the user that the first call is an important call; and

    determining whether the caller provided the entry to notify the user that the first call is an important call or whether the caller is leaving a voice message for the user,at least partly in response to determining, via at least one computing system, that the caller did not provide the entry to notify the user that the first call is an important call, and that the caller is leaving a voice message for the user on the user mobile device, recording the caller voice message on the user mobile device,at least partly in response to determining that the caller provided the entry to notify the user that the first call is an important call within a predetermined amount of time, causing, at least in part, the user mobile device to provide a user cognizable alert,enabling, via at least one computing system, the user mobile device to provide up to a specified number of alerts regarding the first call, wherein the specified number of alerts is configured to be less than a number of alerts which would cause the first call to be answered by a carrier voice messaging system of a carrier.
